PALINUROBAR

The Bar

Palinurobar was built upon a florid cafe in the 80s maintaining its characteristic and treacherous wooden interiors. The design of the counter and of the walls’ boiserie has been preserved and integrated with new entries, like the custom  benches designed by the new milanese collective NM3. For years, in its spaces, Palinurobar has hosted presentation events linked to the design world, and art books, private events linked to other brands from different fields.

Low intervention wine

Palinurobar’s selection includes natural wine labels from all over the world. For years natural wine has been a consolidated tendency across the main European cities and has also represented a value: wines produced by means of sustainable technologies and ancient know-how, both in the vineyard and in the winery, represent a different approach to life first of all, and then to wine consumption as well. The Palinurobar team, with some of the best wineries in Italy, has also created its own "private labels": bottles of wine in which it has taken care of the choice of grapes and the design of the label.

PIERRE-EMMANUEL
VANDEPUTTE

Born in 1991, Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte is a Belgian designer.

From conception to production, Pierre-Emmanuel imbues his designs with a sense of the surreal and a respect for craftsmanship. Each piece has a unique voice, and emotional power. Together, they speak to our more playful and curious nature, inviting us to live experiences unlimited by everyday expectations.

His work is enigmatic, challenging what we consider to be evident in order to change habits and perceptions. His designs are indeed symbolic of an urge to break free from the mundane, to chase originality, while staying within the framework of the most noble materials.

THOMAS
SERRUYS

Thomas Serruys ’86 is a Bruges based self taught designer, with a background in art, antiques and 20th century design sales. He established his atelier in 2016, initially in the port of Ostend, later he became a resident of Zaventem Ateliers and now operates from his own space, a former cotton spinnery on the ringway of Bruges.

His pieces are marked by a logical simplicity and traditional craftsmanship with an experimental twist, with shapes and proportions chosen intuitively. Materials are picked based on how the objects can age well and endure the test of time.

Daily life serves as a source of inspiration, influencing designs that seamlessly integrate into the rhythm of everyday living. The items reflect an awareness of practical needs, ensuring each piece is not only aesthetically pleasing but also purposefully functional.

Immersing in the self-study of 20th-century design, Thomas finds boundless inspiration within the revolutionary trends that shaped this era. The exploration of iconic designs from the 20th century becomes an inspiring journey offering insights into the evolution of materials, forms and philosophies. This self-guided study empowers Thomas to reinterpret and innovate, blending the essence of past movements with a contemporary vision.
